You'll notice that when you refresh this webpage, that free video will lead to a different or random webpage.

In other words, other people will be able to take advantage of the traffic enjoyed by this website. They will be able to generate additional leads... for FREE.

That's just one kind of help we extend to members of the Empower Network Bloggers Group.

Remember, you should avoid thinking only of yourself. You should help and serve others.

While it's true that some of the people who become your customers will be passed up (your 2nd, 4th, 6th, and every 5th customer thereafter), and while it's a fact you won't receive a single cent from them, go ahead and help them just the same.

Don't make this "just about money."

Help others without expectation of receiving anything in return. Just try it and see what happens.

The question is: What happens when some people drop out?

Take this sample scenario...

Lawrence Tam refers Toby Black and Layla Black. Hence, Toby and Layla paid the monthly fee to Lawrence, and Toby and Layla are allowed to build their blog in the Empower Network (EN) website.

Lawrence is allowed to receive payments directly from Toby and Layla, because Lawrence is subscribed to at least the $25/month package. I'm guessing that Lawrence is paying David Wood and/or David Sharpe.

(NOTE: David is most likely paying for the Empower Network webserver.)

Now Toby and Layla sign-up Arvin. Arvin pays Toby and Layla $25 a month and starts blogging at EN.

Arvin signs up Manuel. Manuel pays the monthly fee to Arvin. Yes, it's a case of 100% commissions. The owners of the dedicated webserver hosting account, or at least the ones responsible for it, are David Wood and company.

Now here's the question...

What happens if Arvin decides to move on to other things?

If Arvin pursues other interests, that means he stops paying $25/month to Toby and Layla. And since he's no longer subscribed to the EN Basic Membership package, then he should no longer accept payments from Manuel.

That's one of the key principles in EN: You may refer products that you yourself are paying for.

Hence, if Manuel continues blogging at Empower Network, he now needs to find a way to send the monthly $25 to Toby and Layla.

The same thing will need to be done by all the people who directly joined the team of Arvin.

What happens if, in the future, Toby and Layla get out of Empower Network? Does that mean we will have to adjust and now send our payments to Lawrence?

Perhaps online payments will be handled automatically if the EN members are using a merchant account. The Empower Network uses First Data, which provides merchant accounts to people based in the USA. For international members or those living outside the USA, there are alternative online payment systems.

It appears, however, that these non-First Data online payment processors are not set-up to automatically handle the redirection of payments when people move in and out of the Empower Network.

And that's an administrative challenge that needs to be resolved.

In the meantime, the ideal thing to do would be to get a merchant account. Hopefully, Empower Network will find a way to make this available to international members, and not just limit it to the USA.

David Wood and David Sharpe are probably using a dedicated webserver because they expect a lot of site visitors. Plus, with so many people logging into what appears to be a multi-user WordPress-powered site, they know they have to get a monster web hosting package to avoid server meltdown.

My gut feel is that they have taken the intial surge in cashflow, and invested this in paid marketing and promotion campaigns.

If you're a newbie, you probably don't have much cash for your internet business. That's why you will use mostly free tools to drive traffic to your blog (or even to your Empower Network blog).

You will also most likely invest your TIME in producing videos which you will upload to YouTube.

And you know, you may even attract a few customers who will pay $25/month for Empower Network.

And then, after a few months, when you don't see the thousands of dollars you once dreamed of come flowing into your bank account, you will most likely QUIT.

And what will happen to the fantastic online marketing and lead generation system which you have just built? Those will end up going to the people above you.

Think of general content articles as your way of giving back to the internet. Look at it as your way of helping others without expecting anything in return. Treat it as a way of building and improving your website and transforming from being a mere "how to make money online" site, to one that is useful, entertaining, or informative.

How will people know your articles even exist?

That's where Promotional Articles come in.

These can come in the form of online press releases, guest blogging or guest posting, article submission, online publishing in other free websites such as Blogger (Blogspot) or WordPress, creating pages at Hubpages or Squidoo, status updates in Twitter or Facebook, streaming videos in YouTube, a photo blog in Tumblr, or in any other site outside your main site.

What is blog curation? It's an easy way to get started with blogging or publishing online.

It's easy in the sense that you don't need to write long articles. Yet it can be quite time-consuming because your team will search the web for interesting, useful, relevant, or entertaining webpages to talk about.

You will then cite that page, provide a link to that article, and even feature a excerpt of that webpage.

Aside from providing time-saving value (by putting together on one page links to other webpages that your readers will appreciate), you can also write your own opinions.

Now here comes the twist...

In the past, blogger curators would simply share for the sheer fun of it.

Later on, in the late 1990s or the early 2000s, these online curators turned to online advertising and affiliate marketing as a way of making money online.

Today, blog curation is monetized this way:

• Build a mailing list.
• Sell your own products.

Traffic is built this way:

• Build your social network.
• Search engine optimization (SEO).

What topic will your blog cover?

You can go with the "traditional" keyword research.

Or you can jumpstart things by examining your own list of interests, and by carefully assessing which of those topics people are buying things for.

For example, if you are interested in dedicated webhosting, you will easily see that people are paying for web hosting (because it helps them earn money for their online businesses). And since a dedicated webserver isn't exactly highly affordable, you know that people will pay good money for high availability, high uptime hosting.

You can then build a blog that curates items related to the webhosting industry.

For instance, you can write about the various webhosting reviews you've seen all over the web. And to help your readers, inject your personality by including your own opinions and comments about the various webhosting reviews you've come across.

Which reviews strike you as geniune, and which ones run counter to your personal experience with certain webhost providers.

Some blog curation examples I've seen will not always include the site owner's strong opinions, though. These will tend to focus mainly on providing content in the 200 to 500 word range.

In those cases, don't be surprised if you see them building as many as FOUR mailing lists simultaneously on every webpage.

• Banner ad to a squeeze page
• Widget showing how many people are visiting the site (social proof)

From the looks of things, serious marketing blog curators are into high volume mailing list building.

And they're targeting topics that a lot of people are fanatical about.

So if you're thinking of trying out blog curation, identify who are the rabid fans that you want to connect with, build your WordPress-powered blog, create your Facebook fanpage, and invest in a bit of advertising to grow your social media network and your mailing list.

First of all, you will need to set a few things up:

1. A domain or subdomain (you will install the script in the root, and not in a sub-folder).
2. MySQL database (it would be great if a future version of SPP would automate this)
3. FTP the script files to your webserver
4. An electronic product (e.g., report, image file such as a printable discount coupon) that people will want to download.
5. A couple of API Keys/IDs (e.g. Facebook App ID)

Now if you need technical assistance, Fuad and Patrick have online video tutorials. Alternatively, you can have your virtual assistants watch those videos and do the techie stuff for you.

Please note that it may be difficult to read some of the text in their screencapture videos, but Patrick and Fuad are working on additional videos that will help explain things more clearly. Those who are comfortable with the technical set-up, however, will be able to breeze through those online tutorials.

What is a social purchase?

If people want to download your product, they can outright purchase it or they can do a "social purchase" which means that they spread the word about your website before they may download your product.

How do people spread the word?

Is the Social Purchase Profits script a WordPress plugin?

SPP is not a WP plugin. And that's one of the many reasons why I love it so much.
