In a world of WordPress security updates, someone is offering a way of protecting your WordPress blogs in between updates. Afterall, you're not constantly connected to the internet, which means you don't know how quickly you'll be able to install the needed security patches. Still, is WordPress Secure worth getting?

WordPress Secure (www.WordPressSecure.info) says that you can control access to your WP login screen by allowing only a certain IP address to access it. This means everyone else is blocked, except you.

What if your IP address changes? The salesletter says it takes only 10 seconds to make the necessary adjustments.

If you have a fixed IP, or if you connect to the internet the same way every time, then this may be a good solution for your WP blog. If, however, your IP keeps changing then those "10 seconds" can easily add up.

I couldn't find any contact info on the WordPressSecure.info page, so I wasn't able to ask the developer how the "10 second" adjustment can be made if, for example, I were traveling and trying to update my blog from an internet cafe.

Perhaps it would be simpler to just password-protect the WordPress login folder?
