I've seen how Google notices some of my posts within 4 hours. In some cases, it even takes less than 2 hours. How is this possible? With the help of WordPress, you can set-up a list of places to ping. These places are notified as soon as you publish a post.
For some reason, the Google bots are able to sense this also.
Well, here's the list that I use...
If you're using WordPress, log in and from the Dashboard select Options and the Writing.
You'll find a section called "Update Services" towards the bottom of the Writing Options page. If you wish, you can copy/paste the list below:

After copy/pasting the list, please remember to tap the Update Options button near the bottom righthand corner of the Writing Options page.
I don't have the hard numbers, but I have a feeling it's the BlogSearch reference that lets Google know that there's a new post.
You might want to experiment with different posting times, to see how quickly Google reacts to what you publish in your blog. Happy blog and ping-ing!
(NOTE: For those of you who have availed of the Host4Profit 1028 Promo, this list will automatically be placed in your WordPress Writing Options page at the right time.
