If you want to make money online, you'll need to publish unique articles. The thing is, it is all too easy to have nothing to write about. You squeeze your brain, hop from one article directory to another, eventually come up with an article or two, and then earn a whimper of an online revenue trickle.

What do professional bloggers write about? Check these out...

1. Write about what people want to read. Let's face it. If people don't even want to read the topics presented in your blog, then kiss "traffic" goodbye. No interest means no visitors.

2. Write about what people pay for. Okay, so you've actually asked around and discovered that people want to read about computers, or cameras, or houses. What do you think? Do you suppose people want to pay for those?

If you find yourself in a party talking to some friends, listen carefully and you'll find out what they're willing to pay for. It could be a vacation, a needed home repair kit, a hobby (preferably an expensive hobby), or even a horse.

3. Read other bloggers. Head on over to http://blogsearch.google.com, type keywords related to the topics you've come up with in points 1 and 2, and see what other bloggers are saying about those things.

For one thing, you'll gain an alternative point of view.

For another, you'll find like-minded bloggers, plus blogs where you can leave a useful comment. And that will help drive additional traffic to your site, because when you post a comment you can link your name to your site.

4. Go out more. In the end, if all you can think about goes along the lines of cars, computers, golf, software, travel, make money online, dogs, or even pets in general, then you really have to go out more.

Wait... I'm not saying avoid those topics. Afterall, you can earn some amount of income writing about those consumer-oriented areas.

But you can earn even more, by targeting profitable niches where you'll find rabid fans eagerly searching for the next item they can buy. So if you wish to find out what those niches are, then you'll need to go out more.

There are LOTS of things to write about. These topics are all floating in the air. All you need to do is tune your ears to people around you, to books and newspapers, to radio stations, to the (occasional) TV commercials.... And yes, you'll need to move away from your computer every now and then. :-)

(And if you simply can't get away from the internet, try SpyFu.com and see what keywords people are bidding on.)

Anyway, here's to more profitable writing activities for you!
