Western Union and AdSense
248 words |
If you're losing your AdSense checks in the mail, or you're not that happy about the $24 courier delivery fee, then you might want to try Western Union. Just make sure to do these quick steps first...
Go to the nearest Western Union branch and ask them if they have experience disbursing Google payments. If they give you the "Huh? What's that?" look, then ask yourself if you're willing to be a guinea pig.
Some WU branches sometimes run out of cash during peak periods, so please check your cashflow and assess if you're willing to go through a few hair-pulling moments because of delayed payments.
Ask your fellow bloggers what their experience is with Western Union. You'll be surprised with the mixed reactions you will get. It helps to home in those who are happy with WU, and find out which branches they transact with.
If you're thinking of getting your WU funds from the unit found in a bank, give it a test first. Some banks will take up to 1 hour just to process your payment, because they use their computers to contact some WU-related person. The confirmation process can be quite lengthy, especially when the contact person on the other end is not at their terminal.
The Western Union payment delivery system is a good alternative for the average AdSense-earning blogger. You just need to get in touch with bloggers in your area to find out which branches to transact at, and which to avoid.

I get mine at ChinaBank. Yes, it takes at least 1 hour to complete the transaction. Not all WU branches has that QuickCash option.
Thanks for sharing, Mike. By the way, I like your Blogger url, http://greasyperson.blogspot.com
(Especially after I clicked to visit and happily confirmed my guess.)
