Twitter CTR
218 words |
People have been trying Twitter, to see if they can increase visits to their own blogs or web sites. Your experience will definitely vary, because you will have your own unique set of Twitter followers. Just the same, here are some findings regarding the clickthrough behavior of those reading tweets in Twitter.
You will need to test, but based on the tests I made, maximum clickthroughs happen between 5AM and 1PM EST. This is based on an account having around 83 followers.
You'll get anywhere from 5 to 15 clicks per URL you list in each of your tweets, assuming you post no more than 1 tweet per hour. Of those 15 clicks, around 4 to 5 will be made by search engine robots.
Those bots will revisit your links every 5 to 7 days later.
Based on this mini-experiment, don't expect a dramatic boost in your web viewership just from Twitter alone. Given the low traffic, you will need to ensure that the page where those people land encourages your readers to subscribe to your newsletter. Otherwise, you'll just lose those visitors.
Also, try not to be too focused on gaining traffic from Twitter. There are certain things that are actually worth more than traffic. Just continue using Twitter to provide useful or entertaining information, and you will reap other benefits indirectly in the future.

Hi Manuel Viloria.
I have been blogging eight months. I am told I write interesting topics and well. Yet where is the traffic? I must admit I don't know anything about improving readership except linking with other bloggers.
What will it take for you to coach me? I'd prefer a business relationship.
No hurry as I still blog peripherally but in a few months I'd like to begin blogging pro like.
Ty ty. All best.
Hi Annamanila!

I have in mind a coach .... someone who wlll spoon feed, hand hold. I have difficulty following techie instructions -- believe it or else.
Do you know someone, a professional coach who can sit down with me for a reasonable fee? Ty ty ty Much obliged.
Thanks for the comment, Annamanila. Let's see where this goes.
