Scratchback is cool. You might be interested to know there is a similar widget available at http://www.bringabuddy.net. It allows for link sales as well as rewarding visitors for referrals…

Ian, the rewarded tipjar concept is great. The visitor tips the blogger, and the blogger rewards the visitor with a text link.

I'm now testing which of the various Scratchback TopSpots will bring in traffic.

that is right with the use of javascript can make Text Link selling easy - though its more like a tipping jar as jim says
