Thirty Day Challenge Backlash

Have you heard about the Thirty Day Challenge backlash? Hundreds (or is it thousands?) of 30DC participants, after waiting for a little over half a month, flocked to Tumblr.com, created affiliate marketing doorway pages, and announced those sites, er, pages in various Web2.0 social networking sites, shot up the Google search engine results for their targeted keyword phrase, and then reported the stunning results in the 30DC forum.
In less than 36 hours, the backlash began.

Notice how she falls asleep while her dad talks about Internet Marketing. I wonder if he's been monitoring the not-so-recent events in the Philippine blogosphere...)
Several Tumblr pages were deleted. Apparently, some of the pages appeared spammy and were not created in the true spirit of Tumblr. Afterall, the content was probably just so-so, and the multiple links on each Tumblr page pointed to just one external link: a merchant's salespage.
The mass deletion spread, however, and even newly-created Tumblr pages which did not talk about affiliate marketing, how-to articles, or anything else that hints of online marketing, were also purged from Tumblr.
(NOTE: Some pages were not deleted. Yet.)
And that's one of the dangers when a large group of people is taught how to earn money online. You can talk about Market Research, Traffic, Conversion, and Product Creation, but we need to identify that key ingredient. It's something that comes even before "Market Research."
Key Ingredient: You like to write and help people with your words.
If you don't like to write, then get on your team someone who does enjoy writing. If all you or your team can produce are half-hearted articles which do not really help people solve a problem or find those needle in a haystack answers online, then all your effort may get wasted.
Anyway, it's not too late. Write with people in mind, and get on with the rest of the Thirty Day Challenge. Remember to observe carefully, because a lot of secrets are being given left and right in the 30DC.
