Streaming Video Hosting

Thinking of offering streaming video without relying on YouTube? There are quite a few companies out there offering hosting for your online videos. Here's a quick price comparison of the couple which have been generating some amount of buzz lately.
StreamHoster.com offers 500MB of storage and 5GB of monthly data transfer per month, at a monthly subscription price of $15.
NewVideoPro.com, on the other hand, offers 4GB of monthly data transfer for $39.95 per month. It is not clear how much disk space you're given.
What does this mean? Companies are banking on the growing interest in video. A lot of entrepreneurs are starting to believe the mantra that online video will bring you a flood of visitors that will make BlogRush seem redundant.
A quick check at MetaCafe or Revver will readily show you that it takes a kind of personality to make successful online videos. Whether or not these videos will generate sales for your company is one thing. Yet capturing the attention of a lot of eyeballs is something to consider.
Should you take the plunge into the waters of professional streaming video hosting? Or should you continue treading the waters of free video hosting? Afterall, if bloggers are being encouraged to shift from free to fee, shouldn't the same advice be given to people harnessing the power of online video?
My suggestion: Try the free video hosting services first. See if you and your videos can capture the hearts, minds, and eyes of a considerable group of people. If you are successful, then perhaps you can foray into the world of "independent" video hosting.

Loved the suggestion kabayan. Test the water first. After all, the content of the video is what's important in the first place.
@AnitoKid - Thanks! I hope to view your videos someday. Attracting a lot of viewers is quite challenging. Perhaps we should get in touch with the writers/producers of popular shows.
Come to think of it, that's not a bad idea after all. Writers and producers, e.g., Howie Severino, have their own blogs (and I'm a big fan of Howie, by the way!) now.
We could learn a lot from them, right?
And I kid you not when I say that it's like history repeating itself in a technology-sort-of-way! People used to rely on print media then for news, e.g., newspapers and the likes. Then came the radio and television. Now, partly because of technology, people from all walks of life, from every corner of the globe, have blogs. Podcasts then entered the scene, and now videos has carved its own niche in the online world! It is such an interesting development that one could not help but think what the future has in store for everyone! And if we really ponder upon it, a question arises, i.e., "Are we living in the future now?"
