Did Someone Steal Your Adsense Check?
161 words | Last Updated: November 4, 2006 |
Don't look now, but some people have reported that their Adsense checks have been diverted and deposited in some banks in Dagupan.
Marc Macalua writes Adsense Check Fraud On The Rise, while Mark Verzo posts that Some dude stole and cashed my Adsense Check!
From the comments, we learn that the victims used the following post offices: Pasig and Alabang.
Who knows who else have experienced this, and which other post offices they've used. Looks like PO personnel shouldn't be too surprised if the patrons they used to chat with no longer engage in chikahan or small talk in the near future.
You might consider having your checks delivered securely via DHL. Given the $24 courier fee, some folks have issued "hold payment" orders to Google, and then lifted such orders once their accumulated earnings are at least $124 (because they like depositing checks of at least $100).

Hi Manuel, thanks for the link. I think we're bound to see an increase in cases soon, as more and more people are discovering the wonders of Internet marketing (not just AdSense checks, but TLA, CJ, etc.)
[From Manuel] Hi Marc! I wonder if they'll start targeting the lower value (read: non-Adsense) checks once more publishers opt for secure delivery. Or perhaps courier services will see an increase in sales as a result of this?
Anyway, abangan... Thanks for dropping by!
wow. This is alarming news. I guess this will consider using the secure delivery service after all.
Thanks for the link. I think it all happens in the main office. I've been there for packages and everything and everyone just feels filthy and corrupt.
[From Manuel] No problem, Mark. Thanks for dropping by!
