How do you get more visitors to return to your site? Well, you can remind them regularly. No, I'm not talking about asking them to subscribe to an email list which automatically sends them messages asking them to revisit your site.

We're talking about Outlook calendars, or even Windows Vista calendars. Check out this demo...

If you have any of the above calendar programs, you've probably tried setting a recurring appointment, and Outlook will dutifully remind you about that event. Well, on the web this can also be done.

For example, if your computer has such calendar programs, you can try this: remind me to visit ManuelViloria.com

If things work properly, you'll be given the chance to open or save a calendar file. And if you use Vista or Outlook, you'll get a weekly reminder to visit this site.

How's that for repeat traffic, right?

Will this work? It's worth a test. Although something tells me that people who regularly use Outlook are stuck in so many meetings, that they don't have time to revisit your site anymore. ;-)

If you're building a site for colleagues, however, a web-based system of setting reminders or recurring appointments will be greatly appreciated. And if you will somehow customize the script and allow people to set the frequency of those reminders, then it will turn into a useful online tool.

And useful online tools bring in--you guessed it--more traffic.

The script is by Robert Plank, and you'll learn the details at BlackHatPHP
