Real Estate and SEO
|
What does it take for real estate companies to gain increased visibility on the internet? Do they need to engage in a lot of SEO activities? Or does success lie in other avenues?
Take, for example, the case of Singapore HDB Property. They try to gain more backlinks, hoping that this will help drive more visitors to their site.
And let’s assume that it does actually bring in more visitors. What happens next? Will those readers turn into repeat visitors? Will they subscribe to the site’s RSS feed or even join a mailing list? Will these people buy the products and services that the site offers or recommends?
If you’re a real estate company trying to make its mark here on the web, you’ll need to establish the objectives of your web site. It would be better if you write these objectives, so that your webdesign team can easily assess if your site meets those targets.
Now surf on over to your site and look at what appears. Do you simply see a paragraph filled with more than a couple of links that lead to the same destination? If you do see such things, what kind of impression do you get?
It will help to build each web page with the visitor in mind.
If you make it obvious that you are focused on the interests of your visitors, then that page will rank high in the search engines. How is this possible? Human editors.
There are people who will manually review your web pages, and will manually rank such pages in the SERPs. How can this be humanly possible?
Well, if John Reese and his BlogRush team were able to weed out 10,000 non-qualifying blogs in less than a month, what do you think search engine organizations with deeper pockets can do?
So, what can real estate companies do? Work with an interest magnet.
An Interest Magnet is a web personality that attracts the interest or attention of a lot of people.
If you’re targeting real estate buyers, you don’t necessarily need to just build a real estate blog. You can work with an Interest Magnet who might blog about things that your target market is interested in. These topics might not necessarily be about real estate.
Afterall, your target market (real estate buyers) is not one-dimensional. Your potential customers have other hobbies, too. If you can find those Interest Magnets who can connect with your buyers, you can work together and market your property company much better.
In this post-PageRank slap world of SEO, we all need to revisit the power of true attraction. And if real estate is all about “location, location, location” then on the web it’s about “attention, attention, attention.”
