Plurk and Internet Marketing Tips

You've probably heard of one of the increasingly popular watering holes on the internet today: Plurk. Here's a quick explanation of what Plurk is, and how you can make more friends, gain more traffic for your web site, and even snag a few internet marketing tips via a special Plurk Internet Marketing Group.
So here's how it works...
If you've tried the old CB radio, or internet chatting, or Twitter, then you'll have some idea of what Plurk can do. Plurk is all that (community, reaching out to others, hanging out, exchanging stories) and more, because you can easily share photos as well as videos.
Similar to Twitter, you tap out messages that are 140 characters long. Unlike Twitter, however, your replies to the plurks (or messages) of other Plurkers will appear in one scrollable window. It's therefore easier to keep track of the online conversation.
The different messages are arranged horizontally on a timeline, while the responses of the different people (or Plurkers) will appear in a window which drops open after you click on a particular message. Here's an example of a timeline and some responses.

Some folks say the horizontal scrolling is distracting, or that the messages and conversation are too light and may even border on the childish, but they might miss an important point.
Plurk gathers together a certain group of people.
In internet marketing, you need to find out where people flock together, participate and make yourself visible in either a useful or entertaining way, and then you make your service or products known one way or the other.
Is it all just fun and games in Plurk? You might be surprised. One great thing about Plurk is the ability to segment the market. You can create "cliques" or groups, so that the messages you post are sent only to that particular group.
If you have light or this-is-how-my-day-went types of messages, you can publish it publicly or privately to a certain group. If you have more "serious" or more "cerebral" Twitter-like posts, you can direct it to a different group.
I posted in Plurk recently: "Are you interested in Internet Marketing Tips?" and was surprised with the response. And that's why I'm offering a bunch of IM tips to a certain segment of the Plurk community.

plurk is awesome!
This seems a wonderful way and of course a new way to attract new traffic and gain credibility.
But, wow! it becoming so overwhelming, you know too many places and way to market a blog.
Plurk is offline..does that happen regularly?
No, this is the first time I've experienced it. When they got back online, I saw that they made changes to certain parts of their screen. I hope their growing popularity doesn't mean more outages in the future (a la Twitter).
This looks good and sounds awsome, one of my worry is one more website where we have to update and find friends and network, so is this really worth it, I already have a linkedin, naymz, facebook and twitter to update daily.
I am sure I will know how good is it once I see some traffic out of it.
Hi how we arrange different messages horizontally on a time line.At the same time we conversation with two or three persons. If you've tried the old CB radio, or internet chatting, or Twitter, then you'll have some idea of what Plurk can do. Plurk is all that community, reaching out to others, hanging out, exchanging stories and more, because you can easily share photos as well as videos.
