Pinoy Vlogging

Pinoy Vlogger Coy Caballes is on a quest. He is getting more Filipinos to try videoblogging. While some might hastily assume this is just a teenage pre-occupation with oneself, others realize that this fun-filled activity can actually translate to higher web traffic. Here's the scoop...
Coy posted a call for submissions last month at ThisIsCoy.net for entries about Pinoy Vlogging (videoblogging done by Filipinos). The entries were not required to contain actual videos. Even a basic text-only blog post can qualify.
If you visit Coy's uBlog, iVlog! post, you'll get a feel of how receptive people are to his idea.
In spite of his hectic schedule, Coy was able to announce the uBlog, iVlog winners. A big "Thank You!" goes to judges Ederic Eder and Gibbs Cadiz.
I enjoyed watching the video of Joe Datinguinoo, and am now thinking of getting hold of Ulead (video editing software). I wonder when the Viral Video Fever DVDs of Charles Trippy will arrive in Manila.
Anyway, what does this have to do with your web site traffic? Lots. Loads. Heaps.
It does not matter if you're a Filipino. No matter what your nationality is, you can't escape the fact the people are increasingly drawn to video. If you're just publishing text or images online, you are keeping your site from reaching its full potential.
What's so scary about vlogging? Didn't you have the same uncertainties before you made your first blog post? And look at your blog today, after more than 10 posts.
I hope you'll give vlogging a try. Don't obsess over "making a sale" or "getting traffic." Just experiment and have fun in the process. Record a short clip (less than 3 minutes) and post that in YouTube.
Later on, you can experiment with photo storytelling, video search engine optimization (VSEO), and even the creation of video ebooks. But that's for later. You need to start with your first video. Even a low-resolution webcam is fine.
The important thing is to start. Fear not. Afterall, there ain't no mountain high enough....
So, what's keeping you from vlogging?

I usually have haters on YouTube but that's really inevitable.
What's actually keeping me from vlogging is time. I had time to made videos each week. Now, I can't. I still have so many ideas though. I'm actually thinking of making a video to make fun of that disgusting 2 girls 1 cup but who knows if it pushes through.
