Did your site suffer a pagerank slap recently? How did other sites manage to preserve their pagerank?
I've seen some WordPress-powered blogs keep links to the Monthly Archives on their homepage, while others would move those links to an internal page. The theory here is that having fewer links on your homepage will give the remaining links more oomph as far as pagerank juice is concerned.
So, what about pagerank loss? From what I've seen, WP sites which display Monthly Archives links on the homepage are better able to preserve their pagerank.
It was a sample size of only 10 sites, so you might wish to expand this test further.
