So Yahoo buys MyBlogLog and more people are getting into social networking and the Web 2.0 community for... web site traffic.

WebmasterWords.com is conducting a MyBlogLog Experiment, and has written scripts to automate the process of marking MyBlogLog users as his (amnezia's) contacts.

When someone makes you a contact in MyBlogLog, you'll receive an email. You'll then wonder who that person is, click on over to their profile, and then perhaps check out their web site.

And that's how I found out about "amnezia's" site.

It's an experiment to see how much traffic s/he can generate. I can't wait to read the results.

I just wish they had gone a step further, by sending the traffic to a site that somehow collects emails (via an autoresponder plus the enticement of an interesting download). You can then measure the quality of traffic your site gets. Then again, this experiment may just be the start of something bigger.
