A lot of beginners are wondering how to make money with AdSense. It comes as no surprise, actually. Imagine, all you have to do is write and attract readers, then advertisers will pay for advertising space in your blog. You don't have any products to sell or deliver, you don't need to build a mailing list, and you can even publish in free websites. And on top of all that, you earn online thanks to AdSense. The question is, how?

In his usual generous manner, Grizzly (the blogger, I mean, internet marketer behind How To Make Money Online For Beginners) launches yet another blog, Make Money With AdSense, where he freely shares tips for newcomers or those just starting out with making money online.

Since Grizz is focused on beginners, some of the initial material may seem familiar to long-time readers of his popular HTMMOFB blog. When I say "long-time", I mean those who spent a loooong time reading his lengthy posts (and even lengthier comment areas), which probably started way back in 2006.

That was time well-spent, because some readers actually took action and are now earning anywhere from $1,000 to $3,500 a month (in AdSense dollars). In certain cases, those high-earning blogs are just six months old.

Anyway, among the topics Grizz is tackling in his newly-minted blog is the issue of SmartPricing. If you take the time to go through his posts, you will learn that if your blog post attracts targeted traffic, and if your post displays targeted ads, then you will maximize your online income. And if you wish to maximize your overall earnings, you will need to monitor your various sites and remove ads from those sites (or pages) which earn so little.

Now identifying which sites are being smartpriced (and which are simply experiencing low earnings due to the nature of the niche topic they're focused on) requires more experimentation (as well as higher web traffic). One key factor to consider is whether your old or established blogs show a sudden drop in AdSense earnings (particularly in your earnings per click) after you started displaying ads in a new site.

If that happens, chances are you've been smartpriced. And the easy solution is to simply remove the ads from the newly-added site.

At any rate, it's still early days and I'm looking forward to more posts by Grizzly. Here are some things you might wish to think about while you wait for more tutorials for AdSense beginners:

  • Do visitors coming from the search engines produce higher AdSense earnings than non-searchengine visitors? All the time?
  • Will removing ads that only earn a penny a click (sometimes even less) result in higher earnings for your entire network? All the time?
  • How do you attract targeted traffic?
  • How can you make your posts display targeted ads?
  • How can your site appear in page 1 of the Google SERPs?
  • Are you prepared to conduct numerous experiments (read: write numerous blog posts about different topics)?

Yes, you know what I'm getting at. If you're an AdSense beginner please ask yourself if you're willing to write 400-word blog posts, sometimes about topics you (for now) have no knowledge of. If you are, then go for it. If you're not, then stay tuned for tutorials on AdSense-alternatives. Afterall, there's more than one way to make money online, right?
