So you've finally taken the plunge and moved away from free blog hosting. You now have your own domain name and web hosting account, and a WordPress blog has been installed in your site. Here's how to easily publish a post in WordPress.
The key items are: "Write" and "Publish"
If you have a long post, please remember to click the Save and Continue Editing button. Otherwise, if you suffer a power outage, parts of your post may be lost. So remember to save often, and resist the urge to impulsively click on the Publish button.
There are other things you can do before you publish, such as assign your post to a particular Category, but that will be tackled in another tutorial. For now, and just as an exercise, learn to quickly publish your posts. It will automatically be filed in the "Uncategorized" category.
Blogging need not be a frightening or extremely time-consuming activity. Sometimes, you just have to get over your fear of being criticized. That's what you'll get if you publish online, and the sooner you learn to accept that, the faster you'll be on your way to building a good web site.
