Ian del Carmen launches the Fireball List Building Course, a 27-day info course (delivered via email autoresponder) about listbuilding. It is definitely not for everyone, because the material is quite basic. If you have had some experience in building mailing lists with the help of Aweber, for example, then this course will probably bore you to tears...

...with the exception of about three "hey, why didn't I think of that?!" tactics that are generously revealed in the middle part of the course. After seeing the messages of various list gurus, it looks like they didn't want to implement those easy-to-do tactics, or they are completely unaware of what Ian del Carmen knows.

For beginners, however, you are going to learn quite a few things. Don't worry, there's no room for info overload because...

...the information is delivered via email. Each day, you will receive an email that leads you to an easy-to-read web page which contains the lesson for that day.

The first few lessons are quite preliminary: Why you need to build a list, what tools you need, the strategy behind small versus large lists, and so on.

It's almost as if Ian is allergic to flooding the newbie with too much information, though. So while he dwells on top-level topics such as what squeeze pages do, or while he writes about the WHY of things, he does not give you the HOW.

For example, he does not show you how to build squeeze pages. But that's not all...

In the 12th email installment, for example, you'll read about Free Classifieds. But there's nothing about where those online classifieds are. Wouldn't you like to know where you can post your ads for free?

In the 17th email, you'll read about search engines and list building. Afterall, with traffic comes more subscribers to your list, right? But he does not tackle the nitty gritty of how to drive search engine traffic to your opt-in pages.

As I've mentioned earlier, the Fireball List Building Course is a good introductory course for beginners. It will leave you hungry for more information, however, particularly the HOW of things.
