Josh Bartlett launches Easy Video Player (EVP), offered as your new tool in Video Marketing 2.0, to help you make money online. Before you go and ditch your old video player, let's review some of the features of EVP...
The usual video players allow you to display streaming video on your web site. That's about it. Some may make use of auto-redirects (such as in Camtasia-powered videos), but otherwise the goal is simple: show a video online.
With Easy Video Player, you can now do the following things aside from autoredirect:
- You can display opt-in forms at the end of the video, right there in the video box.
What kinds of videos does Easy Video Player Support?
From the EVP video example, the blog entry I saw made use of FlowPlayer. The supported video format are FLV, H.264, and MP4.
For more info, please see FlowPlayer Technical Facts.
Is it worth getting Easy Video Player?
To make the most out of using EVP, you need to have the following first:
- WordPress blog, hosted in a domain that you own
- Amazon S3 account
- Autoresponder account (i.e., Aweber)
- Autoresponder series (at least two follow-up messages)
- At least two videos (format: FLV, H.264, MP4)
- High speed internet broadband connection
Can I Survive Without Easy Video Player?
Yes, you can. You'll just need to take extra steps:
- Log into your Amazon S3 account.
- Upload your video. (Alternatively, you can use a WordPress plugin to upload the video from within your WordPress blog while you're writing a blog post, directly to your Amazon S3 account.)
- Use the FlowPlayer WordPress plugin to properly display the video inside your blog post.
- Copy/paste your opt-in HTML code beside or below your embedded video, because you won't be able to easily make the opt-in boxes appear right inside the video box.
- To secure videos or protect your bandwidth, you will need to log into your Amazon S3 account and adjust the permission settings of your files, and then use the S3 Flow Shield plugin.
In other words, if you're not feeling that technically-oriented, or your webmaster, programmer, or virtual assistant is feeling a little under the weather, you can save time with Easy Video Player.
Professional Video Marketing Tools
Now here's something that internet marketers will want to watch closely. The Easy Video Player allows you to make use of the built-in tracking tool that reveals to you:
- Traffic Source - Where did your visitors come from.
- Views and Plays - How many times people viewed or played your videos. Easily see which of your videos are popular. Now you know why I wrote earlier that you need to have at least two videos to make the most out of EVP.
- Sales and Conversions - Sounds like Google Analytics, right? You can see how many people moved from your video, to your order page, and how many people actually bought your product.
- Embed Call To Action Buttons - Yes, right there inside the video box. So while people are staring at the video, they will easily see your call to action (i.e., opt-in, buy now, call us)
Another Easy Video Player Tip...
Please do not rely only on EVP. Take the time to use other parts of spaces of your webpage. The embedded call to action buttons is a fantastic feature, but what if your viewers don't watch the entire video? What if they don't even see those call to action buttons?
It will help if you test these assumptions in your video marketing campaigns.
For example, use a different opt-in code for the sign-up form inside the video box, and another code for the sign-up form outside the video box.
That way you can easily see which method is more effective for your own website.
In the end, have fun with Easy Video Player (http://www.EasyVideoPlayer.com)! Here's wishing you success in your video marketing campaigns.

Hi Manuel,
Thank you for a well written post about EasyVideoPlayer. I'm in the beginning of my video marketing career. So I wanted to give this tool a chance. I've read a lot about it and the feedback is very positive. So why not.
The features that attracted me best were the enhanced track capabilities and the possibility to embed calls to action directly into the video. That makes so much easier the step from passive watching to the action I want the watcher will take.
It is a good point when you write "Please do not rely only on EVP". As all the other tools EVP is only part of a bigger marketing strategy we must plan in order to succeed.
All the best
Estani
Thanks, Estani! Have fun with video marketing, and I'm confident you will reap success.
Great review Manuel!
I bought the software after read it and Easy Video Player was the best investment that I made in my business.
I tried several solutions to protect the content and bandwidth of my membership site and the Easy Video Player is the most easy tool that I use.
But there's a lot of cool features that I'll try.
Thank you Manuel!
Best regards,
Rogerio Job
I mistakenly put an affiliate link as my website in the previous comment ( Affiliate marketer or not?
)
Sorry about that.
Here is my question again:
I really need your help with embedding the easy video player code on my wordpress posts. For some reason it doesn't work inside blog posts. Do you have any idea?
Thanks,
Jack
@Rogerio - Glad to know you like EVP
@Jack - No problem, Jack.
Try changing your WordPress theme to something basic (i.e., Kubrick default). If you're able to embed the easy video player code in your WordPress posts, that means your other WP theme has issues.
Also, please check if you're using the WordPress visual editor or the HTML editor.
Jack,
One thing I have found that solves problems for me within wordpress is that in the html view I enclose all the easyvideo player code in its own div.
Seems to have got rid of any problems I encountered
Jack
would like to see an upgraded report I have had troubles installing it, getting the redirect to work, having the buttons work ( will not save any changes )and i think what is more of a pain now as of this writing they are not taking and more help desk tickets you cannot contact them
regards Russell
