Whether your blog "generates" a lead via bookmarking or subscribing, you'll still need to deal with whether your bookmarkers/subscribers are qualified, or whether your reader-fans are worth your blogging effort. Worth will depend, though, on your particular objectives for your blog.

What I mainly get from Andy's entry on as to the reason why blogs would suck is because of the subscribers rate, but personally I think it's a bit of a weird measurement since definitely not everybody subscribes.

Myself in example I go by quite a bit of blogs of which there's definitely some to be named which I frequent, but I haven't subscribed on a single one of them. I simply stick to bookmarking still, and I have no doubt that there's a lot more like that.

So perhaps 2% might subscribe, but it says absolutely nothing if 30% would bookmark and 90% of the total visitors are returning visitors in example.
