How about you empty your bank account, sign over your car or home to anyone who confronts you and says, "Hey give me your property." Instead of seeing downsides to paying for information, why don't you invest the money and then use it to your advantage. You have no idea if the information is actually undervalued. Once you pay for it, you could have alternatively turned around and repackaged it and resold it for 10 or 100 times more.
