You're right. And I do hope the ABM developer offers a script that addresses the needs of those who want better control over their login information.

Hi,

As an Affiliate as well as a developer myself, I can safely say that clickbank does not currently offer any service that will let you check your recipes. By service, I mean a service that developers can use to retrieve the clickbank recipes for verification.

Because of this, and from your comments, probably this software just validate the syntax of the clickbank receipt alone, therefore it dosent check that a receipt is your own or not - since this is practically impossible to do becuase clickbank does not allow this.

As a general rule (and common sence) any software that asks for your clickbank username and password should be avoided SINCE YOU ARE GUST GIVING THOSE DETAILS TO SOMEONE ELSE

Hi Rian, Are you referring to a receipt of another referred product?

I can imagine that once ABM logs into your Clickbank affiliate account, it simply scans all the receipts there and tries to find a match. So if you referred a $9 product but are now promoting a $97 product, and if I previously purchased the $9 product through your affiliate link, then the receipt for the $9 product becomes a "valid" number.

The protection workaround I see here is to have more than one Clickbank affiliate ID - one for low-ticket items, and another for high ticket items.

Alternatively, your bonus could be in the form of an ebook which requires manual activation. Of course, if you're making a LOT of referral sales then this can become quite tedious.

Here's the Bug Report forum for ABM:

I recently started using ABM. What I noticed though is that you can fool it. If you simply enter any valid receipt, not necessarily the one for the product you are purchasing, it will allow access. this is not good. It means that for a product you bought for $9, you can take that code, pop it into the AMB and gain access to a product or bonus worth much much more. I hope there is some protection mechanism that I missed. Any experience with this?

That's a really great idea. I've stayed away from offering any addons because it seems like way too much work. Glad to see something simplify that so well.
