I agree with your tips and this is some great information for beginners! I think everyone should make their first blog about something you are actually interested in (dogs, video games, fashion, etc). This way you will know what to write about, what kind of ads to put on the site, and you will most likely know all the most popular sites/forums for that topic. You are one step ahead of the game since you have already done the research.

For beginners, I also recommend to start slowly. Make your first goal to get only $10 a month. Once you start building and getting more successful you can set higher goals. But small steps are easier to attain. Good luck to us all!

Thanks for the article, great tips! I must say that I always liked Adwords since I didn't have much success with Adsense, but it is better used with glyphius for marketing purposes.
