Wow, 240 articles is a ton to write yourself. Like Dave, I'm a big fan of Elance for getting reasonable content at a decent price. I've had a lot of luck with local college kids, too. There are plenty that will do great work for $5-7/article. It's not much money, but it buys beer and they can work whenever they want, so most I've worked with love it.

It all depends on who you use to outsource the articles and how much you are willing to pay for them. A good writer will produce great unique content that you can use to generate traffic and gain one way links for your chosen keyword phrase. It can be quite hard to find a decent ghost writer on Elance and other websites but once you find one the results will be good. If you don't have time to find a ghost writer you can just use a service like need-an-article.com which is very cheap (about $5 per 400 to 500 word article) and the quality is quite good.

@Terry - No, not in quotes. And he focuses more on the number of advertisers (plus bid price) than on the searches per day for each keyword. If the demand for some keywords is quite low, he'll put 3 to 5 of those low-demand keywords in one web page.

@Dave - Are you happy with outsourcing? Some of my friends have given up on this.

Great post. The Spy Fu tool looks useful, I haven't used it before. I usually write at least one new unique article per day and submit it to Ezine Articles. I then outsource more articles and target multiple keyword phrases.

Nice article. I was wondering though...are his 300 competition searches or less in quotes? And does he have a minimum number of searches per day for each keyword?
