If you've read some essays about cramming your web pages with Google Adsense horizontal ad links and large rectangular ad units, you might wish to reconsider how they're performing today.
If you visit StevePavlina.com, you'll see that he no longer displays those horizontal ad links beneath his site's main horizontal menu bar. He has moved it down, towards the middle of his homepage.
Who knows? Perhaps it was competing with the rectangular ad block near the top of his homepage's first article.
If you're curious about your site's performance, try putting your horizontal ad links and rectangular ad units near each other and see what happens. You'll probably see click cannibalization.
StevePavlina.com, the last I heard, earns about $4,000+ a month from Google Adsense. So it helps to see how he changes the layout of his site every now and then.
