Pido Aguilar, Jr., author of The Gift of Abundance, gave a 2-hour talk last November 15, 2008 at the lower chapel of Christ the King in Greenmeadows, Quezon City. He spoke about abundance and how unlimited blessings can flow into our lives, and it made me think about how this can also apply to internet marketers.

Pido said that no matter what is happening to us, whether we are stuck in traffic, being berated by difficult bosses, or frightened by the potential effects of a global recession, our attitude can help us maintain a sense of balance and strength, and help prepare our lives so that more blessings and fortunes may come to us.

1. Go with the Flow. If you study the web traffic patterns of your own blog or web site, you will notice that the more you give, the more you shall receive. Do you provide useful information? Do you link out to other bloggers? Or do you try and keep it all within? When you go with the flow, when you participate in the dance of give and take, you will find benefits also flowing back to you.

2. Reach Out and Connect. We need to build our relationships with people. It's no use just sitting in front of the computer surfing and typing away, and in the process disconnecting with our friends and families. You might get "lucky" and amass a lot of wealth, but what is the use of that if there's no one to share it with? Take time to speak with and hang out with people... in the real world, okay? Not just through virtual chats.

3. Attract Rewards. Goodness shall enter our lives if our thoughts, words, heart, and deeds are in sync with one another. If you force yourself (or your children), for example, to take up Nursing in college so that they can land a "lucrative" job outside the country, the financial rewards will not be worth it if deep in their mind and heart, they do not really want to become nurses or caregivers.

In terms of internet marketing or niche blogging, even if someone gives you a profitable keyword list in so-and-so niche, you will not attain lasting success if you don't feel passionate about the niche topic. You might end up conducting research and churning out blog post after blog post about siopao buns, for example, but if the topic is not in your heart it will become obvious.

Your posts might even appear as lifeless or soulless PLR (Private Label Rights) articles, and Google might even disable your account because of your lackluster automated-looking content.

4. Be Positive. Everything that happens to you provides you with a lesson that you must learn. Each adversity, each difficulty, every challenge... avoid running away from these. Embrace them, maintain a positive attitude, and search for the lesson that you need to learn.

Did your website traffic drop? Did your daily income slide? Did your earnings per click or per thousand impressions plunge? Whatever it is, raise your hands and exclaim "Abundance!" and go on serving people with the help of your internet marketing program or blog.

These are just four of the seven "heartsets" mentioned in Pido Aguilar's The Gift of Abundance, and while these are applicable to people in general, you will be able to find a direct link to you who are interested in internet or affiliate marketing, or even pro-blogging.

There were numerous "A-ha!" moments during that evening's 2-hour presentation or "lifeshop" of Pido, and there were also countless funny and entertaining times (Pido has a theater background, writes poetry, sings, and acts in his spare time). The one lesson that I took home in particular is this: Always Have Hope.

Some internet marketers and niche bloggers tend to be impatient or fearful. Either the traffic is dwindling, or online incomes dry up, or the recession is scaring online advertisers away. Or perhaps the site is down, or no one signs up for your email autoresponder course, or traffic sent to affiliate offers produced zero affiliate commissions. It's all too easy to get discouraged, disillusioned, or defeated.

Yet there's always hope. Never forget that. Or better yet, always remember that.

Have you heard about Steve Pavlina who in October 2008 removed all AdSense ads from his site? Yes, he turned his back on annual advertising revenues of $100,000 because the system did not resonate with him. He does not know what exactly is coming, yet he knows that he is attracting something wonderful. For Steve, blessings (financial or otherwise) will come. Clearly, he has an Abundance mentality.

Are you hopeful? Do you trust? Do you believe in a life of abundance? Whether you don't or you do, it will surely be evident in your internet marketing experience. I invite you to a life of success, and the time to actually enjoy it. Welcome, to the abundant life of internet marketing. :-)
